What we collect when you visit this site, why, and how to ask us to stop or delete it.
Who we are
Edgewise Lab is the trading name of Filipe Rodriguez, a sole trader based in Cambridge, UK. In this policy, "we", "us" and "Edgewise Lab" mean Filipe Rodriguez trading as Edgewise Lab.
This site, edgewiselab.co.uk, is a marketing site for a fractional CTO practice. It has no user accounts, doesn't take payments, and doesn't run a public app. We're committed to protecting your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
What data we collect
We don't have a sign-up form, contact form, or account on this site, so we don't collect passwords or payment details. What we do collect:
- Usage data: pages viewed, how you arrived, browser and device type, and rough location (country or city level), collected automatically through analytics.
- Session recordings: Amplitude currently records 100% of sessions, meaning mouse movement and clicks on the page, so we can see how people actually use it. There are no forms on this site, so no typed input is ever captured.
- Contact data: if you email us or book a call, we see whatever you send us (your name, email address, and message), through Gmail and Google Calendar.
Why we collect it
- Consent: analytics and session recording are both non-essential. Neither runs until you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: understanding how the site is used and keeping it secure.
- Contract or pre-contract steps: if you email us or book a call, we use what you send to reply, and, if you become a client, to deliver the work.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep records, for example for accounting.
Cookies
None of the tools below set a cookie or run any script until you click Accept on the cookie banner. Click Reject and none of them load. Change your mind later using Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page.
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we don't sell data to anyone.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal data to any third party.
International transfers
This site is hosted in the UK (AWS, London). Most of the third-party tools above are headquartered in the US. Where personal data leaves the UK, we rely on those providers' standard contractual clauses or the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Analytics and session data: kept for the retention window set in each tool (Google Analytics, Amplitude), then aggregated or deleted automatically by that provider.
- Emails and call bookings: kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and for our own business records, then deleted.
Data security
- The site is served over HTTPS everywhere.
- There is no database and no account system on this site, so there is no user data store beyond hosting logs and the analytics tools listed above.
- Access to the analytics dashboards is restricted to Filipe Rodriguez.
Your rights
To exercise any of these rights, including asking us to delete your data, email hello@edgewiselab.co.uk. We'll action deletion requests by hand, including in our analytics tools, and respond within one calendar month.
Children
This site is aimed at founders, investors and businesses. It isn't intended for use by anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Marketing
We don't currently send marketing emails from this site. If that changes, we'll ask first and give you an easy way to opt out, in line with PECR and UK GDPR.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date at the top of the page.
